Break The Religion and mAngo team up for 1Forty’s first single of 2018

The Leeds based imprint are signalling their intentions for this year from the very beginning

After an incredibly successful 2017, 1Forty seem keen to keep up their momentum by launching straight into their 2018 release schedule with their next single; a collaboration from Bristol producers Break The Religion and mAngo.

‘Fear’ is a 4×4 track anchored by a pounding kick drum backed by expansive percussion – the use of space and reverb from the young producers is particularly intelligent. There’s hints of UK Funky, Breaks and we can’t help but get an almost nostalgic, 90s rave vibe from the hypnotic lead sounds; there’s plenty of modern influence too, particularly on the second drop where a metallic bass cuts across the mix.

Though it’s not your typical out and out Bass track, ‘Fear’ is definitely one for the dance and it’s sick to see a label such as 1Forty allow 2 up and coming, talented producers explore further than the generic, cookie cutter sounds we so commonly hear – tracks with genuine groove and thought beyond an impactful 1st drop are very much needed as far as we’re concerned

Break The Religion & mAngo – ‘Fear’ is out on January 16th and you can preview the track in full below:
