2017: End of year release roundup

It goes without saying – the end of the year is a busy period for pretty much everyone which can make it hard to keep on top of releases, especially as labels and platforms usually join in the festive cheer with compilations and free downloads so in case you somehow managed to miss them, we’ve compiled a list of the biggest end of year releases.

Southpoint Presents: Vol 5

One year on from Vol 4 and the Southpoint gang’s consistently sick, free to download, family get together is back. It’s a huge release, with 20 tracks from newer STPT artists as well as the trusted old guard; Tengu, KXVU, Moony, Freddie Martin, Bushbaby, Hamdi, Movement, 9Trane and SaidWho all feature as well as a new family addition, TC4. Covering the whole spectrum of bass music with the high quality that is synonymous with the Brighton bunch, ‘Southpoint Presents: Vol 5’ is not to be missed.

In:Flux Audio: Selection Box 2017

2017 has arguably been the biggest year to date for In:Flux, and we’d have been hugely surprised if they didn’t go out with a bang. We weren’t disappointed, as ‘Selection Box ’17’ features 11 massive tracks from the likes of Dr. Oscillator, AliMcK, Zemon, Fiyahman, Palizé, Clean Shirt and more. With Garage, Breaks and a heap of Bassline, In:Flux didn’t take wrapping up the end of the year lightly.

Project Allout Records: Vol 3

When it comes to label compilations, no one goes harder than the PAR gang. Ending the year on a high, they’ve put together a release of 47 tracks from a mixture of established artists and newcomers including Deadbeat UK, Daze Prism, Mr C, Killjoy, Moony and Wilkinsound and covers Grime, UKG and Bassline. You can get all 47 tracks for under a tenner on JunoDownload too – bargain!

Albzzy Selects EP [UWotBlud? Records]

This one has been doing absolute bits, from taking up top chart positions to seeing support from Craig David. Albzzy has rounded up a gang of exciting, talented producers and put together this giant 5 track EP. Each tune takes influence from a different pocket of underground UK Music – UK Funky, Bassline, UKG and UK Bass are all represented and in fine form too.

Flava D: More Love 2

We’ve already posted about this wonderful release but it was easily missed after being released on New Years day and, honestly, if you haven’t heard it by now you need to. Full to the brim with dreamy chords, gorgeous melodies and soulful vocals, ‘More Love 2’ is a work of art and the perfect follow up to the original ‘More Love’.
